Random Techo sketches.
Video game-themed doodles.
I apparently drew this in my Techo last night, but I don’t remember doing so!
There is a really wonderful Japanese expression I learned at Temple a while ago that I keep in mind whenever parting ways with people, especially family members: “Ichi-go ichi-e.” It basically means “first time, only time” or “once in a lifetime,” and represents the concept that the moments we have together cannot be replicated and are to be treasured. On Tuesdays my mother-in-law picks up Yoshie. I stand and wave until the car is out of sight. Yoshie and I will blow kisses to one another and catch them to place them on our cheeks. It is often difficult to remember to cherish the moment in our busy, distracted lives, but that is something I am actively working on and reminding myself to do. The next time you part ways with a friend or loved one, be sure to appreciate how special the time you spent together was! (This doodle is from my Hobonichi Techo, by the way!)
I do nothing but troll Miiverse, which is totally not weird for a middle-aged dude to do, right?
What? Your Hobonichi Techo doesn’t have this limited-edition artwork inside? I feel sorry for you, son…

Already breaking in my 2015 Techo with lots of doodles.
